Copolymer Nylon (Series Y/F) is a special polyamide copolymerized from polybasic acids and polyamines.
- Series Y: Mainly characterized by solubility in methanol, ethanol, propanol and other lower aliphatic alcohols.
- Series F: Used for oil‑resistant, pressure‑resistant transparent self‑adhesive coatings, nylon sheaths for wires and cables, enameled wires, rubber products, sealing gaskets, etc.
Copolymer nylon is suitable for coating, dipping, injection molding and other processes. It provides finished products with excellent wear resistance, scratch resistance, oil resistance, chemical resistance, alkali resistance, ozone resistance, and improves strength, elastic recovery, flexibility, softness and heat resistance.
Application Fields
1. Hoses & Cable Sheaths: With high flexibility, used for oil‑resistant, pressure‑resistant transparent hoses and nylon cable sheaths. Blended and modified with nitrile rubber to produce high‑strength, wear‑resistant, oil‑resistant rubber products and gaskets.
2. Structural Adhesives: Dissolved in alcohol and compounded with epoxy resin, phenolic resin, etc., to form high‑performance adhesives for metal structures.
3. Wire Coating: Used in enameled wire coatings. Alcohol‑soluble nylon is dissolved in phenol/alcohol solvents and applied as a top layer on insulation. Also used as outer coating for fiber‑braided wires and optical cables.
4. Printing Plates & Consumables: Improves coating wear resistance, recoatability and electrical resistance, enhancing printing definition, repeatability and service life.
5. Injection & Extrusion: Used as a toughening agent due to high flexibility. Widely applied in injection molding and extrusion; can be blended with other nylons to enhance overall performance.
Packaging, Storage & Transportation
Packed in 15 kg, 20 kg, 25 kg woven bags.
Keep dry. Valid for 1 year under normal temperature storage.
